Questions athletes ask us first
- Can I compete overseas if I've used all my NCAA eligibility?
- Yes. British and Australian university sport has no eligibility clock. Selection for BUCS or UniSport competition depends on being an enrolled student, not on how many seasons you have already played in the US.
- Do I need to be a scholarship athlete to qualify?
- No. Rostered athletes at any division — NCAA D1 to D3 and NAIA — are considered, along with walk-ons and club athletes with a competitive record. Coaches look at current performance and academics.
- What does Athlete Futures Abroad cost?
- Nothing. Our service is completely free for athletes at every stage. Athletes never pay Athlete Futures Abroad.
- What does it cost to study and compete abroad?
- International postgraduate fees in the UK commonly run between £16,000 and £30,000 for a twelve-month master's, before any sports scholarship or fee reduction. Because the UK degree is one year rather than two, the total route is often cheaper than staying in the US.
- When do applications open for the next intake?
- The main UK intake is September, with applications typically running from the autumn before. Australia runs February and July intakes. Joining now means your profile is ready when programmes open.
